Far Point Child Proof Locks
A number of the drawers and doors are protected by magnetic child proof locks.
When there are no children present, we leave these locks disengaged, so the drawers open without the need for a key. But it happens that a lock gets bumped and engaged accidentally, at which point the drawer will feel like it is stuck. Then the magnetic key needs to be used to open it.
To open the drawer, you hold the magnetic key against the location of the lock. The key pulls on the lock mechanism to retract the lock and allow you to open the drawer. When you close the drawer again it will relock.
The keys look like this and are generally stuck to the fan hood over the stove.
The locks are engaged and disengaged with buttons along the side of the lock mechanism. When they are engaged, the locking mechanism will be sticking out as shown in this photo. When the button along the side is pushed, the lock will disengage and the button on the other side pops out.
The locks can be difficult to find with the magnets. You can hear the click, but I am including these pictures that show all locations where the locks are installed.
